California is requiring all new cars sold after 2035 to be electric. According the same plan

35% of cars in California should have a fossil fuel-free engine as soon as next year and by 2030 that number will rise up too 60%

Virginia is following California due to a 2021 law signed by former Gov. Ralph Northam

that tied Virginia's emissions regulations with those of the Golden State.

The Virginia government has officially announced that they will be bound by California's restrictions on gas-powered car sales.

These new regulations, among other things include a ban of all such vehicles within the state by 2035!

The Attorney General has issued a statement opposing the legislation that would make Virginia more like California

The state must stand firm and never allow unelected officials from other states to dictate our policies

The problem of climate change is solvable if we take a broad view and focus on the big changes necessary,

said California Governor Gavin Newsom in an official statement.
